Count Numitol Silvis is the Lord of Argent. He is also Leia Silvis' father. In Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber, Meredia explains that although Argent is influenced by Lodis, Count Silvis actually supports the Palatian Revolutionary Army.
Count Silvis' loyalty is tested by Lodis at some point. If you march on Latium before going to Argent, Count Silvis is the last boss of Argent, corrupted by the Infernal Aura. If you go to Argent before marching on Latium, the last boss of Argent is a Lich that tells you Count Silvis took his own life in a final act of honour, disallowing the Infernal Aura from consuming him.
